TableMaster - windows install
To install TableMaster you need to do two things:
First download and unzip TableMaster.zip in the directory you want it to be loacted, for example c:/rpg/. All files TableMaster needs will be extracted to a directory named "TableMaster/" in the selected directory (in the previous example everything would end up in c:/rpg/TableMaster/).
Second, if you don't allready have one, you need a JRE 1.3 or later. I recomend J2SE v1.4 from Sun, since that is the one I am using to develop TableMaster (actually I use the SDK but if you don't know the difference between a SDK and JRE you should select the JRE). You can find the JRE at http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/download.html. Download the JRE for your platform (ie Windows), and install it. After the installation TM should start by just double clicking on the TableMaster.bat icon (you might need to restart the machine after installing the JRE).
If TM doesn't start when you double click on TableMaster.bat (after installing the JRE) do one of the following:
1. Check that the directory where JRE put java.exe and/or javaw.exe (usually "c:/WINNT/system32") is in in your PATH environment variable. If it is not add it to the PATH environment varaiable.
2. Or if you for some reason don't want to edit your PATH variable, you need to edit the TableMaster.bat file so that the JAVA variable in it points to where the JRE put java.exe (or javaw.exe) see below.
To edit the start script on Windows just change the line:
to for example (if your javaw is located there):
